The Story of Dispattern

Back to blog

How Dispattern started from one small idea and became a complete skin pattern platform for Counter-Strike 2.

The Story of Dispattern

Dispattern started on December 29th, 2024.

It all began when I was looking for a Desert Eagle Heat-Treated with the most purple possible. I wanted to find the perfect pattern, but while searching, I realized that most analysis sites weren’t as precise as they could be.

At that time, CSBlueGem was the best out there. It was an amazing project and honestly a real savior for people who cared about pattern ranking. But I noticed they were missing something small that made a big difference. Their color analysis only went to two decimals, and sometimes that caused rankings to be slightly off. I told myself that maybe the third decimal could be the one that decides everything.

That small thought became the start of Dispattern.

Why I Built It

Later on, CSBlueGem was bought by Clash.gg. I completely respect the work behind both projects, but I’ll be honest: it made me angry to see a community-driven project end up owned by a gambling company. That was the moment I decided to build my own version, something inspired by what I loved about CSBlueGem, but done better and independently.

People told me it was a bad idea to take screenshots for every single skin. They said it would take too long and wasn’t worth it. But I didn’t care. I wanted Dispattern to be complete, precise, and something the CS community could actually trust.

A Year of Work

It took me a full year to finish all the screenshots. Every day I was testing, organizing, and improving. I reached out to a lot of people, even some with big names, hoping for help or advice. Most didn’t reply or just weren’t interested. It was a bit of a wake-up call. Online, people act nice and friendly, but when you actually need help with a real project, almost nobody shows up.

Of course, not everyone was like that. Some people really helped me along the way. KrisGFX, H1ddenBerg, Krinkerton, Kory_bagel, XRPQC, and many others you can see on the collaborators page. Without them, Dispattern wouldn’t be what it is today.

What Dispattern Is About

Dispattern is a mix of everything I’ve learned and enjoyed about CS skins. It’s built around real color analysis, pattern ranking, and now also includes pricing and recent sales for every skin. I also added a new feature that gives sticker recommendations based on real color data, not random guesses. And if your favorite sticker is too expensive, Dispattern can show you similar stickers that match your skin’s tone and look great.

The goal is simple: make skin discovery and crafting more accurate, more useful, and more honest for everyone.

The Meaning of the Name

The name Dispattern comes from a small joke I made to myself one day. Not every pattern in life or in CS2 is the same. Sometimes you just have to tell yourself: forget this pattern, get Dispattern instead. That’s where it came from.

What It Means to Me

Dispattern is my way of leaving something positive on the internet. Something I can look back on and feel proud of. It’s not a quick project or a side idea; it’s something I’ve put my time, energy, and passion into.

For me, Dispattern isn’t just a website. It’s everything I’ve learned, everything I’ve built, and everything I care about in one place.

That’s the story.
