Match it: I Made a Way to Match Pretty Much Any CS2 Skin With Anything Else

3 min read Back to blog

I built Dispattern as a Counter-Strike 2 skin database with a real focus on pattern and color analysis. We rank finishes, keep special patterns from the community, and put prices and recent sales next to the look of a skin, not only the name.

Match it is the tool I have been wanting on top of that. It is live now.

Match pretty much anything with anything

Basically, it lets you match pretty much anything you want with literally anything, and I mean it.

You start from a skin you already have. Paste an inspect link, search for it, or pick it from your inventory. Then you choose a category and a color from that skin. Match it ranks the items in that category that sit closest to the color you picked.

That can be skins with skins, a pattern with a sticker, gloves with a rifle, a charm with a knife, or whatever else you are trying to make sit together. Skins, patterns, stickers, gloves, rifles, charms: if both sides have color in the database, you can try the match.

Why this helps a loadout

A loadout falls apart when the names look related and the colors do not. You can love a knife and still hate how it sits next to your gloves. You can buy a sticker because of the event and realize it fights the skin.

Match it is there so you can build from the colors that are actually on the items. Start from the piece you already own, pick the slot you still need, and look at what is visually close before you spend time hunting.

An example

This is an example of the flow, not a promise of a specific ranking.

Say you have a Case Hardened rifle and you care about the blue on that exact pattern, not Case Hardened as a generic finish. You start from that inspect, choose stickers, then pick that blue. Because every pattern has been color-analyzed, Match it can look for stickers that follow the colors of that seed, instead of you guessing from the collection name.

Then you can turn it around. Start from the gloves you already like, choose rifles, pick the color you want to carry across the loadout, and see which rifles sit next to those gloves instead of fighting them.

Same idea with charms, knives, or another skin. The point is not one perfect combo. The point is being able to test the combo from the color, not from the label.

Still working on it

I am still working on it. There are some nice surprises in there that a lot of you will like, especially on the pattern side.

If you try it, I want to know what you matched with what. The obvious knife and glove pair is fine. The weird pattern-plus-sticker-plus-charm idea is even better. If something feels missing or confusing, tell me that too. Those ideas are how this gets better.

Try Match it.
